Size guide
Size by measurement, not by breed. Two dogs of the same breed are routinely two sizes apart, and a harness that is one size too big is the one a dog backs out of.
How to measure
- Chest girth. Run a soft tape around the widest part of the chest, just behind the front legs, and pull it snug but not tight. This is the measurement that decides the size.
- Neck girth. Around the base of the neck, where a collar sits. Use it only to check the neck opening will pass over the head.
- Between sizes? Take the larger one. Every harness has four points of adjustment and they take up more slack than they let out.
Measure the dog standing, not sitting. A tape over thick winter coat reads about 2 cm high — press down to the body.

Breed columns are a rough steer only. Measure the dog.
Boots
Boots size by paw width, not by the harness size. Stand the dog on a sheet of paper, press its weight onto the paw, mark either side of the widest point and measure between the marks. Add 3 mm.

Checking the fit once it arrives
- Two fingers should slide flat under every strap. Three means it is loose.
- The chest panel sits on the breastbone, not on the throat.
- The girth strap sits a hand's width behind the front legs, clear of the armpit.
- Walk the dog indoors for ten minutes and re-check — straps settle.
If it is wrong
